1960s Pink Bunny Cot

1960s Pink Bunny Cot

Okay, so in September I bought a Vintage 1960s handmade cot from ebay. I was pretty much going to leave it as it is and just put my dolls in it, exept from the fact that I can't leave anything alone. After Tom said it looked like I found it in a skip, I decided to update it in only the best fashion. Paint it pink.

I used a can of Pink Spray Paint from ebay, and a can of Antique White Spray Paint from Wilkinsons (both about £4 each. I firstly I sprayed the whole cot (not the bottom board) with one layer of White. Then left it 24 hours. I looked very patchy but this was just the base.

Then I sprayed the sides and the railings pink. After about 1 hour, I sprayed the bottom inside end pink, and the top outside end pink. The two ends that are left I painted the next day with more Antique white (as my Bunny decals are to go on them and you have to be able to see the pink bunnies clearly!)

When all the paint had dried, this morning I got out my Bunny decals that I bought from a lady called Amy from ebay (her website is TheDecalCottage.com). I cut them out and placed them where I wanted them - when all was lovely I simply dipped them in water for 30 secs and then placed on. Theyre like transfer tattoos (which i haven't played with in a LONG time!) a bit fiddly but when theyre on they are fab. The instructions said an option is to then varnish over the decals to secure them, so i'll be asking Tom to get me some from Tescos (very handy).

Anyway here are the lovely pics of before and after ...
